Each year, EPA tracks performance measures for the Safer Choice program related to the number of new products certified under the program, the number of chemicals added to the Safer Chemical Ingredients List (SCIL), and the time it takes to review applications for Safer Choice product certification. These measures are useful in assessing the program's performance, determining the program's impact on the market for safer chemical ingredients, and developing ways to improve the program in the future.
The following measures are expressed as annual goals and reflect performance associated with those goals for the last five years. EPA plans to update these measures on an annual basis each January.
